When running research in multiple countries or languages, it’s important that survey questions are understood as intended and are appropriate for local cultural contexts. Automated translation tools can introduce ambiguity or lose nuance, which can negatively affect data quality.
Attest offers a paid translation service through a trusted translation partner. All translations are completed and reviewed by human translators to ensure accuracy and cultural relevance.
When to use Attest’s translation partner
Using Attest’s translation partner is recommended when:
you are surveying in a language you do not speak fluently
question wording is nuanced or sensitive
you want additional confidence in translation quality
If you already have high-quality translations, you can upload them yourself instead. See Sending translated surveys for more detail.
How the translation service works
To start the translation process:
Draft your survey in your preferred language.
Contact the Customer Research team via in-platform chat to request translations and confirm timelines.
Your survey content is then shared securely with Attest’s translation partner, who will translate the survey for the selected markets. Once complete, the translated version is returned to you directly in the Attest platform.
All translations are written and reviewed by humans to preserve meaning, tone, and local nuance.
Attest can also provide back-translations of survey results. In this case, results are exported from the dashboard and translated into your preferred language before being returned to you for analysis. This can be useful when results are collected in multiple languages but need to be reviewed centrally.
Timelines and expectations
Translation timelines depend on factors such as:
the length of the survey
the number of languages
the volume of responses (for back-translations)
Translations can take as little as two to three working days. The Customer Research team will confirm expected timelines on a case-by-case basis.
If you have any further questions, or would like support translating your survey, please reach out to your Customer Research Manager or contact us via the in-platform chat.
