Using templates

Get started faster with expert-written surveys you can adapt to your needs

Updated this week

Running your first survey or starting a new project can be daunting, but here at Attest we make sure that consumer research is easy for everyone in your team.

Starting a new survey does not have to mean starting from scratch. Attest includes a set of built-in survey templates designed to help you get up and running quickly, whether you need inspiration or a solid starting structure.

Templates are written by Attest’s in-house research experts and cover some of the most common research goals. Each template is fully customisable, so you can adapt questions, wording and logic to suit your project.

When to use a template

Templates are useful if you:

  • Are running a survey for the first time

  • Want a proven structure for a common research type

  • Need inspiration for questions or flow

  • Want to save time on setup

You can also use templates as a learning tool, to see how experienced researchers structure surveys for different goals.

Find and use a template

To get started, log into the Attest platform and open the Templates page from the left-hand navigation.

Here you will see all available templates, covering a range of popular research types. Select a template to open it in the survey editor.

Customise your template

Once a template is open, it behaves like any other survey draft. You can:

  • Edit or remove existing questions

  • Change answer options and wording

  • Add new questions or logic

  • Reorder sections to fit your needs

Templates are designed as a starting point, not a finished product, so we recommend reviewing and adapting them before launch.

Finish setup and launch

After customising your template, continue through audience selection and launch your survey as usual.

If you need help adapting a template, Compass can suggest improvements based on your research goal, or help you refine questions once you have a draft.

You can also reach out to the in-house Customer Research Team via in-platform live chat for guidance on using templates effectively.
